Not Living The Dream
"Not Living the Dream" is a podcast about Alison and Stefanie, 2 girls from NJ who moved to L.A. to live the Hollywood Dream. Here's what happened instead.
"Not Living the Dream" has ended and is currently mid-migration from Libsyn to Soundcloud.
Hula Hoop World Record Training
Alison spent some time training to set the Guinness Book record for fastest mile while hula-hooping.
Not really because she's the best at it...or even that good at it at all...but because no one else had done it yet, and Guinness told her to go ahead and try.
Here's an example of her training diary, which can be found on her Hula Hoop Vimeo Channel where you can also watch Alison hooping in snow shoes on frozen Lake Michigan in March. In a bikini.
Seriously.

Trashin' the Big Apple
Screened at the Planet In Focus International, Princeton Environmental, New York Avignon, and Queens International film festivals, "TrashIn' the Big Apple" addresses the environmental impact of landfilling food waste, with New York City as a case study. New Yorkers waste more than any city in America, but there's been no major policy, movement or plan to remedy the damage to the earth and its citizens.

This documentary short, made in 2005 (the original 15-minute version will soon be made available), is finally having an impact, with Brooklyn's pilot program alongside a future city-wide composting plan. The documentary spotlights sanitation authorities and city businesses, demonstrates steps for solutions at home, and even tours the Rikers Island Prison composting facilities, offering solutions for large scale operations. Through interviews with key figures, animation, and featuring a dynamic narrator, the 8-minute film takes the viewer on a short but comprehensive ride through the mounting problem of food waste.
With 'Garbageland' author Elizabeth Royte and former NYC Composting Director Tom Outerbridge.
